Grodd's psionic abilities allow him to place other beings under his mental control and transfer his consciousness into other bodies. Declaring himself the new King Grodd, he began to consume the previous Kings brain, obtaining all of his knowledge and memories. The two faught with spears, until Grodd-son was able to knock King Grodd off balance, headbutting him and impaling the horn of his helmet through his father's forehead, killing him instantly. When the messenger of The Light arrives, they will be able to usher in a new era for the apes of Gorilla City. When Grodd-son grew older, he eventually challenged his father, King Grodd, for a fight to the death to see who will lead Gorilla City. The elders had thought that Grodd-son was a chosen recipient of The Light, a mystical and enigmatic power that super-charged their ancient ancestor's minds while simultaneously destroying the Mayans. In this origin, "Grodd-son" was raised in an ancient civilization of apes by the Village Elders. In the Gorilla Warfare comic, Grodd got a new origin. Though unlike Grodd, Solovar had the ability to mind control. Using these new found abilities, Grodd set out to build Gorilla City along with another Gorilla who acquired very similar abilities as Grodd, known as Solovar. He also was granted the ability to move things with his mind. ![]() When he came in contact with the rock, his intelligence gradually increased passed any humans. Grodd acquired his abilities when an unknown Space Rock crashed in the African jungle, and he came in contact with it. However, before Grodd became the Flashes villain, and before he possessed telepathic abilities, he was an average Gorilla in the African jungle. Using his telepathy, Grodd has certainly done a number on the speedster many times. Gorilla Grodd is an enemy to the scarlet speedster, also known as The Flash. ![]()
